Several guests say that The Grand Hotel in Tralee, Ireland, is a must stop when they are travelling through Ireland. The building of the hotel is charming with lots of character. The location is nice and central and despite being conveniently close to the Shannon Airport, guests say they are not disturbed by the sounds of airplanes.
The rooms are clean and tidy. Both the rooms and bathrooms are spacious and well furnished. Guests say they had a very good night's sleep and would love to visit the hotel again if they have a chance.
The reception staff is very polite and friendly. They enjoy the full Irish breakfasts and the lovely dinners with the excellent service. Many guests say that the food is a bargain for the quality served. Parking at the hotel is very convenient and overall guests say the hotel rates are good value for money.
The hotel does not have facilities of an elevator. The stairs are steep and tricky and older guests especially find it difficult to use them. The Wi-Fi quality of the hotel is poor and intermittent and guests have trouble accessing it for the entire duration of their stay.
Some guests did not like that their rooms overlook the back of the roof. Other guests say they could hear the disturbing noise of fans going on all the time. The beds are not wide enough for some guests and they find them uncomfortable.
Many guests say they would have liked a shower cap to be provided along with the toiletries. Some guests say that the toilets needed repairs and that the vent in the bathrooms was not active.
