Savoy Hotel (Copenhagen, Denmark)

Several guests note that Copenhagen is not an inexpensive city to visit, and that the Savoy charges a fair rate for its clean, cosy rooms with free Wi-Fi and complimentary breakfast. The hotel is also in a premium location, with Tivoli Gardens within walking distance, and the Central Station just five minutes away on foot.

Guests give high marks to the front desk staff for their friendly and professional service, often noting that they are pleased to provide sight-seeing advice and accommodate any special requests. International travellers worried about encountering a language barrier often note that the staff speaks fluent English, and The Savoy also employs staff fluent in Swedish, Portuguese, Finnish, Spanish, German, and Danish.

The continental buffet breakfast earns rave reviews for its wide selection and high quality. Items include cold meats, cheeses, pastries, cereals, various freshly baked breads, fruit, and yogurt. Guests are also delighted o find free tea, coffee, Danish pastries, and fruit available during the day in reception.

Several guests note that the rooms are fairly small, with very limited clothes storage. Some were disappointed to discover their double room featured two twins pushed together to share a headboard. Tall guests might want to avoid the roof top rooms, which feature slanted ceilings with sky lights.

As is not uncommon in older buildings, the Savoy does not feature an abundance of electrical outlets in the rooms. A few guests had trouble finding a spot to charge devices, and some of the bathrooms do not have handy outlets for hair appliances.
