One of the oldest hotels in Scotland, the Salutation Hotel Hotel has been operating since 1699, with its decorative front windows and grand entry.

Décor Getting Tired.
Guests said that their room and some of the common areas of the hotel had décor that was beginning to tire and dated. Some guests thought it was time for a refurbishment. However, the hotel is currently rolling out refurbishments in areas of need.
Thin walls between rooms and from neighbouring guests as well as noise from outside leaking in through windows made for noisy nights according to some guests.
Offer free Wi-Fi is fast becoming a more and more important selling point to hotels as guests require online access for their travel documents and communication with friends and family. However at the Salutation Hotel guests reported a weak signal or drop outs in their room.
