The most obvious plus point about this hotel is the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, and in particular the Amalfi coastline. Guests love to sit out on their sun terrace, especially on a morning when hotel staff serve a tasty continental breakfast to each individual room. The large planters on the balconies provide privacy for guests, so you will not feel overlooked by fellow guests on their own balcony.
All rooms are charmingly decorated in a classic Mediterranean style, with domed ceilings and curved archways helping create both a relaxing atmosphere and a memorable experience.
Almost without fail, staff are described as being friendly and helpful. They are said to invariably have a smile on their face, and unlike some hotels staff are happy to help you carry your luggage up the steep steps to your room.
One notable constant negative is that lots of noise has been reported at all hours of the day. Excessive noise comes through thin internal walls, as well as from traffic moving along the tight, narrow streets, and even from a nightclub over the road.
Positano is a steep town set on a cliff-side, so it is no surprise that this hotel has lots of steep steps to negotiate. While most guests say the stunning views are worth the effort, it should be pointed out that if you have any mobility problems, or even young children, then this probably isn't the hotel for you.
Guests have reported the Wi-Fi to be hit and miss. As can be the case in older buildings set over several floors, the Wi-Fi connection is said to be weak in some parts of the hotel and stronger in others.
