Guests loved the warm atmosphere at this small, family-run outfit on the outskirts of Ballina. Overall, staff here were friendly and attentive, but in addition to this, many felt that this property offered a good base from which to explore County Mayo. Golfing, salmon fishing and coastal excursions are all a short hop from this hotel and quite a few were delighted to find that the centre of Ballina was also accessible by local transport.
Hungry guests were happy to find that this hotel offered a solid range of choices for the evening meal.
The beds seem to be decidedly comfortable, with a number of guests commenting on how well they slept during their stays here. Additionally, the rooms are kept spotlessly, with the overall quality of the housekeeping here attracting quite a lot of positive comments.
Despite many reporting solid stays, visitors couldn't help but comment on the dated exterior of this hotel. This theme unfortunately continued inside, where many were disappointed to find an equally bleak interior. Old furniture and peeling wallpaper were a common theme.
A number of guests also commented on the skimpy breakfasts here. Despite being cooked to order, diners felt that they needed more than a single sausage and one egg per plate to keep them going.
Finally, some were very disappointed at the lack of Internet facilities here. Many commented that the public Wi-Fi in the foyer area was weak while others were disappointed to find that the property as a whole did not offer free access.
