Stylish interiors, full of character.

Although it is a historic building with lots of period features, many were pleased to find all the mod-cons that they needed for a comfortable stay. The communal lounge and the bar left a lasting impression on the guests who were very complimentary of the elegant and stylish decor.

Accommodating and friendly staff.

Plenty of things to do on-site.

Many guests took the time to explore the various rooms in the castle as well as the expansive grounds which were described as brimming with charm and history. The hotel also organises various activities including archery lessons and there are plenty of outdoor games including croquet and giant chess.

Negative Reviews

Disorganised breakfasts.

The service at breakfast has been described as rather haphazard with quite a few guests mentioning that they waited longer than expected to place their orders whilst others reported having to go in search of staff as none were available.

Room temperature issues.

Some of the guests mentioned that they found their rooms either too hot or too cold and that they experienced difficulties in controlling the air temperature as the radiators seem to be set on timers.

Not enough choice on the menus.

The restaurant menu was said to feature a restrictive choice of dishes and guests objected to the fact that the menus did not change on a regular basis.
