Positive Reviews

Unique accommodation in a 17th century manor house with a sea view

You simply will not stay in another hotel quite like Moresby Hall, a Grade I listed building that was originally built in 1620 The architecture, hotel decorating and room furnishings all provide truly unique surroundings.

Mixing historic accommodation with modern touches

While the building itself is old, many of the facilities in the rooms are not Lie back and relax in a jacuzzi bath while catching up on some news on the TV in the bathroom.

Couple who run the hotel have extensive knowledge of the local area

To find out about all the attractions in the local area, from markets for shopping to coastal paths for an afternoon stroll, ask Jane or David for advice They will make your stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Negative Reviews

The quiet rural surroundings might not be for everyone

Moresby Hall is nestled in the countryside of Cumbria, close to the coast and the Lake District National Park, far from any large centres of population If you thrive in the lights and buzz of the city you may find the location too isolated.

Some beds are quite old and squeaky

Grand four-poster beds adorn some of the bedrooms here, but you might find that the creaking is too loud when trying to get comfortable for sleeping Ask reception if you can change rooms if this is at the case.

The quirky decor might not suit everyone

Being such an old building, some of the interior decor is dated too and might stand out as a little odd for some people If antique dolls give you the creeps then this hotel is not for you!
