Positive Reviews

Hosts are very charming and great with kids.

Families definitely feel comfortable here, with the hosts being warm and welcoming, and attentive to how kids may feel being in a hotel away from home. They're friendly, witty, and understanding of schedule changes that may affect check-in, as well as other instances where things have to be switched up a bit.

Lovely breakfast options that fill you up.

Oldroyd Guest House breakfasts are lovely in every aspect, and a satisfying start to the day. The ingredients are fresh, the portions are decent, and the presentations leave you wanting more, but in a good way.

Great location for local attractions and dining.

The inn is in a great location for conveniently getting to pubs, eateries, nightlife, and plenty of attractions for every taste. Whether you're looking to be entertained, examine history, get some exercise,or just take in the local culture, you're at a good spot to do so from.

Negative Reviews

Shower temperatures and pressure are very poor.

Guests may find the showers to be frustrating, since the controls are outside of the stalls. It's annoying trying to keep a steady temperature, while the pressure is also tricky to maintain. You may have to skip using it, unless absolutely needed.

Drab room conditions and cramped bathrooms.

Rooms could use a makeover, for they don't seem as fresh or in as great of a condition as expected. They're dull, plain, and too basic for what would be preferred in this setting. The bathrooms are also disappointing, with cramped layouts, and fixtures that also have gone past their prime.

Steep stairs are tiring to reach the rooms.

Let the hosts know that you're not comfortable with steps, if need be. It can be a challenge to get to the upper rooms via the narrow steep stairs.
