Positive Reviews

Designed for living

The impressive and restored exterior of the hotel gives way to a pleasing interior and to rooms the decor for which, guests find to be relaxing and welcoming. Air-conditioning is effective in combating the summer heat and the accommodation is spacious and very clean.

A convenient location

Car parking is provided and the advice to guests is to park up and leave it. Tuk-tuk journeys are themselves, a novelty for guests and the journey to the city centre takes only around 15 minutes.

Excellent food

Breakfast is complimentary and of good quality. There is a good choice on offer. Dishes are well presented, just as they are for later dining where the vegetarian options come in for some well-deserved praise. Members of staff, throughout the hotel, are friendly and devote their efforts to ensuring that the visitor is happy and content.

Negative Reviews

All surface but with little substance

Things get off to a bad start when the guest rolls up to this palatial-looking hotel and then has to get out of the car to open the gate. This trend continues inside the building where, in the absence of staff, the guest then has to transport luggage to their room. It just goes from bad to worse in the room itself. These days, even ultra-cheap guesthouses feel obliged to supply complimentary bottled water. They don’t here, though. The first impression is not good.

Problems with the rooms

Guests state that views from the room are not impressive and can often amount to just a neighbouring wall. This negative wall feature also serves to darken the accommodation. Rooms facing the street tend to suffer from street noise. Access can be a problem too as there are no lifts here, but quite a few stairs to navigate.
