Positive Reviews

Convenient location for exploring the town.

Holborn is slap bang in the middle of Thurso town, so you can easily walk around from this hotel and explore everything the area has to offer. The seafront is also just under five minutes' stroll away.

Modest accomodation at a reasonable price.

This is no luxury hotel, but it's a great value place to stay if you just need a comfy bed and to rest up for the night. The room rates won't break the bank and everything is in reasonably good order here.

The pleasant staff are chatty and welcoming.

You'll be treated to proper Scottish hospitality here, a warm welcome and a friendly chat as soon as you arrive. You're made to feel at home and the staff will make sure you have everything you need.

Negative Reviews

Can be noisy into the wee hours on the weekend.

The down side of staying here is that there is a lively pub downstairs that often stays open late into the night, especially on the weekends. Revellers can be heard from the rooms, so it is worth packing a pair of earplugs if you need an early night.

Only a few car parking spots are available here.

There is a serious lack of car parking spaces here, and if you do get one it will often be taken by someone else if you drive off for an hour or so. There's a nearby public car park but you will have to pay for it.

Some of the rooms are a tad on the small side.

Not all of the rooms here are spacious, in fact very few are. If you are sharing a room it could feel very cramped in there, and the bathrooms are pokey too.
