Positive Reviews

Delectable Food.

Serving an extensive range of English, European, and Mediterranean dishes, the dining experience at Shakespeare Inn lacks anything but variety. As produce and ingredients are procured from local suppliers, that home-cooked taste underlies the essence of every meal.

Homely Home-From-Home.

Previous guests of The Shakespeare Inn often find themselves inclined to regard this stately, countryside inn as their home-from-home. Not only are the provided sleeping arrangements spacious and en-suite, but those familiar amenities—such as comfortable linen bedding and readily available tea, coffee, and biscuits—are inseparable in company.

Scenic Location.

Originating from the 19th century, steeped with heritage, this quaint, countryside inn permits awe-inspiring views of the River Severn—ideal for exciting days of swimming and fishing. Also integrated into the landscape, the inn’s three-tiered garden is sure to bewilder. A neighbouring gorge is also visible from the property.

Negative Reviews

Restaurant Service Can Be Slow.

Although the food served in The Shakespeare Inn Restaurant is freshly prepared and almost overbearingly diverse, previous visitors have voiced their disappointment with the untimely restaurant service. Especially during busier times, guests can expect a thirty-or-so-minute wait for the arrival of their order.

Unclean Facilities.

Although well-appointed, some have expressed their discontent with the hotel’s standard of cleanliness. Among dead insects and dusty surfaces, stained drapes and uncomfortable bedding have elicited the attention of previous residents. Some of the bathroom drains are reported to have accumulated a considerable amount of grime.

Slightly Worn and Dated.

While the sleeping arrangements at The Shakespeare Inn are spacious an en-suite, the condition of such inclusive facilities may not sit well with some guests. In addition to worn and lumpy mattresses, frayed carpets, scuffed counter tops, and missing drawer knobs have been reported. Creaking doors are also a common source of complaint.
