    Craigvar is in the centre of Strathpeffer, an outstanding conservation village 20 minutes drive north of Inverness. Its location makes it an exceptionally good touring base from which to explore the Highlands and Islands. It is also an ideal first (or last) night's stop on the North Coast 500 route. There is free, secure wifi throughout the house and plenty of parking. Craigvar also houses a large amount of genealogical and research material relating to Strathpeffer and the parish of Fodderty. There are distilleries within easy reach and a close-up view of dolphins can be had at Chanonry Point in Fortrose, depending on tides. For walkers and cyclists, there is a number of routes, of varying difficulty, in and around the village and there are opportunities for hillwalking, Munro climbing and fishing. The village offers a number of amenities including bowling, tennis and golf, and five minutes away there is a sports centre and a swimming pool. Dingwall is the home of Ross County FC who play in the Scottish Premiership, as do Inverness Caledonian Thistle.     Hotel Strathview Strathpeffer

    Strathview in Strathpeffer is located close to the NC500 route. Both our guest rooms are on the first floor and there are 20 steps up to the first floor, so the rooms might not suit someone with reduced mobility or who finds stairs difficult. The larger room has views over the garden to the hills. The smaller looks over the drive and towards the garden. Both rooms have an en-suite shower room, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, books & magazines and a TV/CD/DVD player with freesat TV channels. There is WiFi throughout the house and it is unlimited so you are welcome to watch films and play online computer games. Please note that we don't have a separate sitting room for guests but each room has a table and chairs. You are very welcome to use the gas barbecue in the garden. You will need to provide your own food and we will provide the gas, plates, knives & forks and glasses at no cost. We hope you have a relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable stay with us. more
