The George is situated in a historic building in Burslem in Stoke-on-Trent, one of the six towns in the area which together make up ‘The Potteries’.

Each of the 42 bedrooms benefit from en-suite facilities, flat screen TVs, tea and coffee-making facilities and trouser-press.

The hotel offers four function rooms, able to accommodate up to 200 people, perfect for weddings, corporate conferences and other events.

The George offers Bennetts Restaurant, which serves traditional and local dishes as well as a wide array of drinks.

Friendly, helpful staff.

Free, fast Wi-Fi.

A couple of reviews mention the Wi-Fi, which seems to be easy to connect to and of a high speed. A number of guests comment that the free Wi-Fi is far better then it is in many close-by alternative hotels.

Bedrooms cleaned to a high standard.

A few reviews comment that rooms are clean and well-serviced, praising the cleaning staff for their efforts. There are a couple of negative reviews regarding the cleanliness of rooms, but on the whole guests seem to be happy with the standard of cleaning.

Dated bedrooms could do with a face-lift.

A number of guests comment on the decor of the rooms, as well as fixtures and fittings which are reportedly tired. Guests state that rooms are in need of an update, as rooms look and feel dated, with broken wardrobe doors and drafty windows.

Hard, uncomfortable beds.

A couple of reviews complain of hard, uncomfortable beds, with some guests commenting that they could feel the springs of the mattress, which apparently made for an uncomfortable night.
