Nestled right on the seafront, Hotel The Bedford is literally a pebble's throw from Sidmouth's family-friendly beaches. Wonderful views, tasty food and great service complement this Regency-era property's unrivalled location.

Guest bedrooms are bright and fresh with modern décors. All rooms include flat-screen TVs, hairdryers, direct-dial telephones and hospitality trays as standard. Some rooms have balconies and sea views.

Guest can relax in the comfy residents' lounge. Complementary Wi-Fi access is available throughout the hotel and limited on-site parking is provided free of charge. A lift serves all floors.

Traditional cooked English breakfasts made with local produce are served daily in the dining room. Morning coffees, lunches and an international table d’hote menu are proffered in Paynes Restaurant. Refreshments and alcoholic drinks are on hand in the small yet stylish bar.

All of Sidmouth's beaches are within easy walking distance of Hotel The Bedford. Sidmouth Golf Course is a ten-minute stroll away.

Views are just sublime.

If you get the opportunity to upgrade to a balcony room then do yourself a favour and seize that opportunity. The sweeping vistas of Lyme Bay and the Jurassic Coast are nothing short of stunning.

Very dog-friendly venue.

If there's a more pooch-friendly seaside hotel on this part of the south coast then we'd like to see it. The wonderful staff at The Bedford treat every four-legged visitor like it's a Royal corgi!

Negative Reviews

Parking is a bit thin on the ground.

You would think a hotel of this size would have plentiful guest parking. Sadly not; parking options here are pretty few and far between...

Lift is pretty cramped...

...So you may want to stay well clear and head for the stairs if you're in any way claustrophobic.

But that's about it...

Once you take the limited parking and titchy lift out of the equation, you're left with a hotel that, it has to be said, is really rather good at delivering enjoyable seaside breaks.
