About The Mornington

The Mornington is located immediately opposite Howard Davis Park, just two-minutes' walk from St Helier town centre. Exemplary service and retro styling characterise this well established, family-run hotel.

Guest rooms are simple yet comfortable and come with en-suite facilities. Colour TVs (with UK channels), direct-dial telephones, hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities are standard features.

Residents can relax and watch TV in the guest lounge or take advantage of the freely accessible Wi-Fi available in reception. There is a lift to all floors.

A complementary Continental breakfast consisting of fruit platters, cheese and hams, croissants, cereals, Jersey yoghurts, toasts, jams, juices and hot drinks is served each morning in the elegant dining room. Drinks, snacks and music memorabilia can be found in the hugely enjoyable on-site bar.

The Mornington is a five-minute walk from the beach at Havre des Pas. Jersey Airport is around five miles away.

Positive Reviews

Hotel has a retro, almost timeless feel.

While the red dralon furnishings, cork wall tiles and 'Rediffusion' control panels over the beds aren't everyone's cup of tea, there's no doubt they're much appreciated by nostalgic guests who're less than enthused by generic chain hotels...

Bar is a shrine to the 'Rolling Stones'.

With pictures, portraits and murals of the legendary rockers plastered all over the walls, this is definitely the place to come if you've ever wanted to have a drink with Mick and the boys!

Top-notch service.

Everyone from the owners to the waiting staff go out of their way to ensure you're treated like an individual guest rather than a 'customer'. Needless to say, this is a 1970s throwback that is greatly appreciated.

Negative Reviews

No cooked breakfast option.

Whilst there's nothing wrong with the Continental breakfast offering here (in fact, it's extremely good), it just doesn't seem right to be denied the option of tucking into a full English...

Some rooms are blighted by traffic noise.

Being close to a busy road means some of the hotel's rooms - most notably the front-facing ones – inevitably receive a degree of unwelcome traffic noise, particularly in the mornings. Might be worth your while to pack some ear plugs, just in case.

Avocado bathrooms.

There's a limit to how much retro you can take and, for most people, that limit is reached when an avocado bathroom pops up. Sadly, these 1970s décor disasters are still very much in force here...
