Positive Reviews

Full of history and old-world charm.

The hotel dates back to the 19th century and still retained many of its original period features which were highly appreciated by the guests. Many said that the grand fire places and wood panelling on the walls made them feel like they had stepped back in time. If you prefer old-world charm as opposed to ultra-modern then you certainly won't be disappointed.

Plenty of things to do on-site.

Guests were pleased to find a wide range of leisure facilities on-site including a tennis court and a fitness centre. Many enjoyed spending time in the games rooms playing a game of snooker as well as listening to the live entertainment which is organised at weekends in the bar.

Quality food and plenty of choice.

The food served at the on-site restaurant was described as being very tasty and made from fresh quality ingredients. Guests said that the dishes were well-prepared and appreciated the wide range of options on the menus which were said to cater for various tastes and dietary requirements.

Negative Reviews

Noisy evenings.

Some of the guests mentioned that they were disturbed by music and noise coming from the bar area which often lasted until late in the evening and prevented them from getting a good night's sleep. The levels of noise were also said to be intrusive at times when wedding receptions were held at the hotel.

Plumbing issues.

Quite a few guests said that they found it quite cumbersome showering or running a bath as the pressure was very weak which meant that the water was coming out as a trickle.

Internet connection problems.

Those who purchased vouchers in order to connect to the Internet said that they had to log in several times as the Wi-Fi signal was quite weak and intermittent.
