Positive Reviews

Good value rooms

Rooms are quite small but reasonably well cleaned and maintained. Beds are comfortable. The bathroom is terrific with good water pressure for the shower.

The location is good

If you are happy to walk, you can get to so many places with ease. It takes, for instance, about 20 minutes to get to Villa Borghese. For the less mobile, the metro station is close by and there are plenty of bus services.

English-speaking staff

Members of staff are very friendly and helpful. Most speak excellent English.

Negative Reviews

A bit better start to the day would be nice

Breakfast is OK but there isn’t a wow within earshot. There’s no variation, so you know what’s coming before it arrives. It’s a pity because, with a bit of imagination, it could be so much better.

Room for improvement

Choose your room carefully. Because of the layout of the hotel, it’s tempting to opt for a room close to the Reception area. Wrong! This can be very busy and noisy. There are quieter rooms though. Access to the hotel is via an ancient and rickety lift. This is something which some people will dread as they leave the hotel after breakfast – and on their return at the end of the day. Although, generally, the place is clean, there are some worrying exceptions so don’t expect too much.

Soundproofing?! Sorry, can't hear you!!

There’s no evidence of soundproofing when noisy guests return noisily, late at night. It seems to be just like other hotels where soundproofing isn’t a feature. It’s not only the guests who are at fault. Members of staff shout enthusiastically at late night football on the TV; then at 6 am they start crashing about in the kitchen whilst preparing breakfast. The noise can seem to be constant.
