Positive Reviews

Walking distance to city centre

Located on Laugavegur, the city centre is on the doorstep of this property thus placing it in a very convenient location. The majority of reviews appreciate being able to walk to a variety of tourist attractions, shops, restaurants and bars. It appears to regularly be the primary factor in choosing this guesthouse.

Bus pick-up spot

The flybus connecting visitors with Keflavik International Airport, plus a series of tour operators, all offer a pick-up from the location of this hotel. Having a useful service like this proves popular with guests who repeatedly comment upon the time it has saved them.

Spacious rooms

The hotel offers a variety of different occupancy rooms, which are consistently labelled as spacious and roomy. Guests appreciate having extra private space to enjoy in their room and it is an aspect regularly recognised as a positive element of this property.

Negative Reviews

Poor value for money

This property is criticised for being overpriced with the facilities and standards repeatedly not  matching customer’s expectations. Reviews frequently mention the cheap furnishings and shared facilities not being adequate for the price charged by the hotel.

No blackout curtains

During the summer months, Reykjavik sees very little hours of darkness. The rooms of this property are not equipped with blackout curtains; an array of guests report this to be an issue with achieving a good night’s sleep.

Lack of housekeeping

Multiple guests remark upon the lack of housekeeping undertaken. This seems particular with changing of towels and linen, whereby a number of guests have stayed for multiple days and not had their linen refreshed. Common areas are also subject to repeated criticism for tidiness.
