About The Ship Leopard

The Ship Leopard is a Georgian-style hotel with 13 rooms located next to the Portsmouth historic dockyard, England. It is situated right across the Portsmouth Harbour train station.

The hotel has modern boutique rooms and suites equipped with a flat screen television, tea/coffee making facilities, king sized bed, alarm clock and en suite bathrooms with toiletries. Suites have a separate living room, bidets and whirlpool tubs. Iron with ironing boards, and cots are available on request.

Free Wi-Fi is provided. It has a multi-storey secure parking with nominal rates. There is a daily maid service and fax/photocopying facilities. A bridal suite and sun terrace are present.

Great location of the hotel and clean rooms

Guests loved the location of the hotel as it was close to the dockyard museums, IOW ferry and Gunwharf Quays. Guests enjoyed seeing the historic warships. Some of the rooms gave a fabulous view of the HMS warrior. It is right opposite to the train station

Well decorated rooms; trained staff

Rooms were beautifully decorated with a modern decor and well-furnished. There was a lot of modern artwork around the hotel which gave it a good look. Modern fittings like free coffee from a Dulce Gusto machine and high-end toiletries fascinated the guest

Good breakfast in the cafe

Most of the guests had a lovely time at the Ship Leopard cafe where breakfast and other meals are served. It is well decorated and the service is very prompt. The selection of breakfast that included continental and full English breakfast was loved by all

Negative Reviews

Inconvenient timings for car parking

Most of the guests found the timings of the car parking very inconvenient. It opened at 8 am and it was a trouble for guests who wanted to leave early. There is an alternative council owned car parking which is costlier.

No AC in rooms; small windows

Some of the guests felt that the rooms were at least 10 degrees hotter than outside as there was no air conditioning and the window was too small to let sufficient cool air flow in.
