The hotel is approximately ten minutes from Basingstoke, two minutes from the M3 and less than five minutes from Hook train station. The station is on the main line to Waterloo and about one hour away.

The hotel’s facilities need a bit of an upgrade.

The hotel oozes nostalgic charm, but some guests thought it could do with selective upgrades. Many noted the carpet is a bit threadbare and pictures posted by guests illustrate this. Many guests were not happy with shower water pressure. Room temperature

While most guests reported that the beds were extremely comfortable, more than a few disagreed, describing them as “too soft” or “lumpy.”

The lodging is in a new extension.

While every guest loved the historic front building of the hotel, guest accommodation is in the rear – in a newer add-on extension. Some guests were a bit disappointed by this.
