Positive Reviews

Spacious and well-appointed rooms.

Guests were pleased to find that the rooms were of decent size and had plenty of storage space. Many complimented the tasteful decor which was said to be appropriate for a country house.  The antique pieces of furniture and quality upholstery were appreciated by many who stayed here.

Peaceful and scenic setting.

The hotel is nestled in the Shropshire countryside and surrounded by acres of private grounds. Guests enjoyed the peace and tranquillity as well as the picture-postcard views from their rooms and the terrace. If you are looking for that idyllic country getaway then you certainly won't be disappointed.

Restaurant popular with guests and locals.

The on-site restaurant has been praised by the guests who said they were impressed with the quality of the food served there. Dishes were said to be well-prepared from quality ingredients and the menus were described as extensive. The restaurant attracts many locals who come in for lunch and afternoon tea who have also been complimentary about the food as well as the service.

Negative Reviews

Plumbing issues.

Several plumbing related issue were reported by the guests ranging from leaking showerheads through to lack of hot water. Some also mentioned that the pipes were quite loud and the sound of rushing water could be heard when other occupants were taking a bath.

Some rooms noisier than others.

Guests whose rooms were located close to the kitchen said that they could hear noise and conversations of the staff which they described as quite intrusive. Similarly, those whose rooms were near the bar, said that loud music sometimes prevented them from getting a good night's sleep.

Dated bathrooms.

Some of the guests mentioned that the bathrooms were dated and objected to the old- fashioned hand-held showers which they said were quite cumbersome to use.
