Positive Reviews

Convenient for the subway

The location of the hotel was probably what guests most appreciated about it. While a little to the south of Osaka's centre, guests explained that there were several subway stations within very short walking distance, and from there most of Osaka could quickly be reached.

Decent breakfast

The hotel offers both breakfast and lunch, but it was the breakfast that guests seemed to like most. Both Western and Japanese foods were available, and it was mentioned that there was a good variety of both. As a result, it seemed all could find at least a couple of items they enjoyed.

Very decent value

Several guests said that, while they accepted the hotel had several issues, they could find no similar hotel in that area with a room-rate anywhere close to the one they received.

Negative Reviews

Exceptionally small rooms

This was by far the most numerous, and most serious, complaint. While not quite as small as Japan's (in)famous pod hotels, guests describe them as not that much bigger. If they were any smaller the bed would need to be placed horizontally, and the bathrooms were described as simply comically small.

Very poor soundproofing

While guests did not seem to complain about noise from outside the hotel, inside noise was another matter. Several mentioned that it appeared there were no soundproofing measures taken at all inside the building. As a result, they speak of sound from adjacent rooms entering their own almost as if there were no walls to impede its progress.

Rooms a bit shabby

Several guests reported that the walls and furniture in their  rooms looked especially bad, and speculated that the dings and scratches they observed were the result of exceptionally small rooms and very large pieces of luggage colliding.
