Travelling is Made Easy at Orlando International Airport
Orlando receives millions of visitors every year, many of which will touch down at the Orlando International Airport. If your travel plans include a stopover at the busiest airport in the state of Florida, rest assured that there are a surprising amount of activities to keep busy while waiting for a flight. You might not have time to visit Walt Disney World Resort or one of Orlando’s many theme parks, but you can still have fun, even while passing the time until take off.
Make the Most of a Layover in Orlando
After a long flight, the first place you might want to visit is an airport lounge. Even travellers who fly economy class can feel like a VIP here for a small fee. Relaxing in a lounge means you can wait in comfort and take advantage of shower facilities, a designated rest area, food, drinks and Wi-Fi – the perfect remedy following a cramped flight. If you’d rather multi-task and get a manicure or massage, rest and relaxation can also be had at one of the two airport spas.
Travellers who want to stretch their legs can take in the permanent and rotating art exhibitions found throughout Orlando International Airport, or stop in at one of the many shops. Universal Studios, Disney, SeaWorld, and NASA’s Kennedy Space Center all have shops at the airport if you don’t have time to visit the real thing.
If your schedule does allow for a brief trip into Orlando, hopping onto the Lynx public bus route is a time-efficient way to do so. This route takes tourists straight into downtown Orlando, a great place to experience a few of the city’s attractions while on a time constraint. The Orlando Science Center, Orlando Museum of Art and the dining and shops on Church Street are all sure bets for spending a few hours. Or, if you’d rather breathe some fresh air and relax in nature before getting on another flight, the 50 picturesque acres at Harry P. Leu Gardens should do the trick.
