About Oban Bay Hotel

The Oban Bay & Spa enjoys a premium location on the Esplanade of Oban’s near-perfect horseshoe bay. Relax in the outdoor hot tub and gaze over to the island of Kerrera in the distance.

Many of the comfortable rooms have fantastic views over the bay, but if you need to rest the black-out curtains will help keep the room dark. Satellite TV, tea and coffee making facilities and free Wi-Fi are available in all the rooms, and complimentary toiletries and bottled water greet guests on arrival.

The hotel spa features a sauna and steam room, and the lobby is furnished with armchairs positioned around a wood-burning fireplace.

The Rannachan Restaurant serves locally caught seafood and a variety of hearty Scottish classics for an evening meal. The Atlantic Bar has a range of refreshments and scotches available.

One of the unique added extras here has to be the outdoor hot tub, where you can unwind and let your muscles relax while gazing out over the bay Even more fun during winter when it is freezing outside!

Negative Reviews

Some carpets and furnishings look a bit worn out

Being an old hotel its appearance is starting to go downhill, so you might find that the carpets are a bit grubby or the paint work is not up to scratch If you encounter broken bathroom fittings or peeling wallpaper in your room request a change from reception.

The spa facilities should be improved

Oban Bay & Spa advertises itself as a spa hotel, so they should really bring their spa up to scratch The sauna and steam room are dated and not really adequate for the capacity of the hotel.

Serious lack of parking outside the hotel

With just a handful of parking spots available directly outside the hotel you might find yourself having to use the nearest public car park a few hundred metres away.
