About Hotel Liberty

Very popular with young people attending electronic dance festivals in the area, the Hotel Liberty offers guests simple accommodation right on a sandy beach on the edge of Novalja.

The Hotel Liberty has rooms to accommodate up to four, a well as more luxurious suites. Each room is simply furnished and features private bathroom, ceiling fan, flat screen TV, and minibar. Suites have a wonderful view of the Adriatic.

The hotel has two sparkling pools set in a lovely garden.

Breakfast is served daily, and there is a restaurant for other meals, but the town is right beyond the perimeter and offers a lot more variety in both dining and nightlife.

The main attractions are the hotels pool terrace and the beach right out front. Central Novalja is about 600yards away, while Zadar Airport is 60 miles to the south.

Positive Reviews

Very good location on the sea sand

One of the few positive things guests had to say about the hotel was that it had a great location. It is right on the sea sand, and the calm Adriatic is mere steps from the hotels pool terrace.

Novalja seems like a nice town

While there were pretty much no positive things said about the hotel itself, the surrounding town, which was said to be easily walkable, was described as quite attractive. It had the expected cafes, bars and nightclubs, and was also said to have a good laid back atmosphere.

For young people with very basic requirements

While no guests commenting seemed to like the hotel themselves, a couple mentioned that perhaps, if the room-rate was exceptionally low, young people who were there to party and had exceptionally basic requirements and expectations might end up having a good time.

Negative Reviews

Serious maintenance issues

Guests mention several serous maintenance issues with their rooms, and with the hotel in general. Doors not closing, holes punched into the walls here and there and so on. It seems the hotel has seen some very rough groups as guests, and is showing the scars.

Out of control party atmosphere

Summer 2015 seems to have seen the party scene at the hotel get entirely out of control, resulting in constant disturbances and fairly serious property damage. Some speak of guests climbing all over the building, throwing trash and bottles everywhere and so on. There were indications in February 2016 that the owners had reassessed the situation and decided to cancel similar events for summer 2016, but it would be best to check directly with the hotel as to what the current status is.

No air conditioning at all

Contrary to some marketing materials, guests insist that there is no air conditioning in the hotel at all. Not in the public areas, and not in any of the rooms. Aside from feeling like they were duped, which was bad enough, many guests had to endure the summer 2015 heat with no respite.
