Positive Reviews

Delicious food in the Bistro

Guests at this hotel are more than surprised to find that the food is so delicious. They say that the menu is varied and that everything on it is cooked to perfection. The prices are pretty reasonable too and the service excellent.

Super friendly people

The staff and the management at this hotel are on top of their customer service game. They greet everyone with a smile and will bend over backwards to help out. Guests are all in agreement that they will stay again due to how the staff made them feel.

Full of character

Walking into this hotel is like stepping back in time. The bar and public areas are beautifully restored and in superb condition. The entire place has a real feeling of history to it which is accentuated by the red brick exterior.

Negative Reviews

Old and tired rooms

Yes, this is a historic building with lovely public space, but guests feel that is no excuse for rooms that are bordering on shabby. The furniture has seen better days, and the décor really needs an update. It should be cheaper to stay here until they refurbish the place.

Not the best area

The location of this hotel is one of its main downfalls. The neighbourhood is far from being a tourist destination, and it's highly unlikely that you would visit the area unless staying there. It's by the docks, and there's not much to see or do nearby.
