Positive Reviews

Comfortable & Budget Friendly With Car Park

Most guests described the accommodations as basic but clean and comfortable. They appreciated the refurbished en-suite rooms and budget prices and thought the on-site parking was an added bonus. Many said they would definitely stay again.

Town Centre Location

Close to the railway station, the M4/M50 motorways and right in Newport town centre, the Night Lodge location was perfect for most guests. Some stayed after attending concerts or football matches and appreciated the easy access to restaurants and pubs.

Pleasant Owners

Guests had high praise for the friendly owners and staff of the Night Lodge and described them as pleasant, accommodating and willing to do whatever was necessary to ensure a comfortable stay.  Guests arriving late said they received a warm welcome, others appreciated the dining recommendations and other information on the local area.

Negative Reviews

Although guests generally found the Night Lodge acceptable, there were a few complaints about broken, loose and malfunctioning shower doors and shower curtains.

Squeaky Springs

Squeaky mattress springs were a problem for a number of guests who complained that the slightest movement produced a cacophony of sounds. Some described the beds as falling apart, others reported worn mattresses and plastic mattress pads.

On The Small Side

While noting that the Newport is a budget establishment, some guests complained that the rooms were too small for comfort with barely enough room to unpack suitcases. Others complained that three beds in an already small room was a recipe for claustrophobia.
