Positive Reviews

Budget value for a short stay

If you keep in mind that Grainger is a budget bed and breakfast offering, the simple, but warm and comfortable accommodation should do the trick for a short stay.

Healthy breakfast available

You will find the continental breakfast on offer to be a refreshing start to the day, with plenty of fruit alongside the usual cereals and toast.

Nice and close to all the action

The location is what brings most of the Grainger’s guests and with only a 15-minute walk to the city centre, and plenty of shops and places to eat in the immediate neighbourhood, your stay in Newcastle-upon-Tyne is unlikely to be a boring one.

Negative Reviews

Noisy in the weekends

Keep in mind that Newcastle-upon-Tyne is now a popular city for its nightlife and this is reflected by the guests staying in the Grainger in the weekend If you are not planning on going out with the stag dos and hen parties, make sure you have ear plugs.

Old interior under renovation

While guests have noted that this bed and breakfast has been in need of being renovated, management have taken the initiative and refurbishments are underway This has caused some early-morning noise and other disturbances, but should only be temporary.

Housekeeping can be disruptive and inconsistent

Guests have sometimes found used soap bars still in the showers, some areas not well-cleaned and have been disturbed by cleaning staff during their stay, however many people have, on the contrary, found the rooms to be tidy and spotless.
