Positive Reviews

Rustic self-catering.

Accommodation on offer at Clenaghans consists of self-contained apartments that have been converted from original farm buildings. Each apartment is clean and spacious and successfully combines old rustic charm such as stone walls and fireplaces with modern conveniences.

Charming owners, incredible welcome.

The owners are very charming and friendly with a down to earth attitude that makes one feel right at home. The welcome is incredibly thoughtful and even includes a few surprises in the fridge to make the stay even better.

Spacious, luxurious en-suites.

The en-suite bathrooms are spacious and well-appointed with the obvious highlight being the roll top bath, offering plenty of opportunities for a long soak after a good walk in the country. Bathrooms are exceptionally clean and well-maintained.

Negative Reviews

Some issues with TV and Wi-Fi.

Perhaps due to the location in the Irish countryside, TV reception can sometimes be a bit on the erratic side, with signal loss every now and then. The same can be said for the free Wi-Fi signal that is made available in all apartments as well as all public areas, with signal loss making it difficult to stay on web pages for long.

Self-catering not for everyone.

While some travellers love the idea of self-catering where the least amount of disturbance from hotel staff is guaranteed, some find that the idea of self-catering defeats the point of a holiday. Having said that, the self-catering at Clenaghans does include a well-stocked fridge filled with breakfast items!

May be out of the way for some.

The property is a fair distance from city life which may be a bit too far out for some travellers who may be more accustomed to city hotels and a bigger variety of night time activities.
