Positive Reviews

Grounds ideal for walks and relaxation.

Many guests took the time to explore the wonderful grounds surrounding the Castle which they described as immaculately presented and full of interesting things to see, including water features and colourful plants and foliage. The picturesque grounds have made the Castle a popular wedding reception venue.

Well-presented and comfortable rooms.

The rooms have been described as elegant with antique furniture and quality upholstery. Guests said that they had everything they needed for a comfortable stay including modern and spacious bathrooms featuring Jacuzzi baths and powerful showers.

Great level of customer service.

The staff at the hotel have been described as professional and friendly by many of the guests who stayed here. Any issues were resolved swiftly and guests were made to feel welcome and at ease. The waiting staff are said to be courteous and knowledgeable adding to the enjoyment of the dining experience.

Negative Reviews

Poor Wi-Fi signal.

Although the hotel advertises free Wi-Fi, the signal is said to be almost non-existent in many of the guest rooms. Those who wanted to connect to the internet could only do so in the vicinity of the hotel’s lobby where the signal was said to be better.

Some rooms quite far from reception.

Guests whose rooms were located in the annexe complained about having to walk over the pebbled courtyard in order to get to the dining room and the reception. During bad weather guests objected having to carry umbrellas in order to get to the main building.

Remote location.

Apart from walks and nature trails there is not much to do in the immediate vicinity of the Castle. Some guests were disappointed to find that they had to drive to get to the nearest restaurants and cafes as the Castle is situated in a secluded area.
