Positive Reviews

In a good location

The hostel is located close to the beach and close to many pubs and shops. Tram stops are also easy walking distances and there are dozens of restaurants nearby. The rooftop area also provides a great place to socialise.

A lot of amenities

There is a large kitchen that guests can use, as well as barbecue facilities. Guest can also look forward to free Wi-Fi and a travel and tour desk for help with recommendations in the area. The bathrooms have been recently renovated and other areas of the hostel are under renovation.

Can't beat the price

If you're looking for the cheapest rates for an night's stay, this hostel is a good choice.

Negative Reviews

Not above a basic stay

The hostel is located in a very old building. The rooms are cold and subject to draughts. The rooms themselves tend to be small and the building is looks old and rundown overall. There isn't a lift and there isn't air conditioning in the hotter months.

A rough crowd

The hostel can get quite loud and sleep may be hard to come by. Since there is a bar onsite, the noise level does reflect guests who like to imbibe and have a good time as long as they are served. The hostel also has its fair share of unsavoury characters.

Staff isn't very helpful

Management can come across as rude, especially when voicing complaints and concerns. The staff also seems disorganised and business practices aren't run very smoothly. Cleaning between visits also doesn't seem to happen and the staff seems to rely on the guests as their housekeeping service. The common areas seem to be seldom cleaned and it's possible to check in to find dirty sheets on the bed.
