Positive Reviews

Great riverside location.

It’s really unusual to find a hotel in such an attractive and peaceful riverside setting. Perfect for a leisurely stroll after a stressful day or, if you have commitments in the centre of Maidstone, it’s worth allowing a bit more time, stroll in and forget about the hassle of car parking.

Lovely staff.

Very helpful and efficient, they ensure the smooth running of the hotel and the satisfaction of guests.

Reliable value.

What it lacks in character, it makes up for in cleanliness, provision of essentials and a feeling of confidence that the brand’s reputation for value continues and thrives here.

Negative Reviews

”A little sign of weakness”.

The sign on the roadside (pointing to the hotel) is too small and is very difficult to see when it is dark. Presumably, they lose custom because of this. Another weakness which is easy to remedy; you have to request a hairdryer from reception. Surely this can be included as part of the room facilities.

Breakfast debacle.

Breakfast is chaotic. Too many people turning up at once – although, hotels must know that this will happen. Apparently not, because, apart from the area being too small to accommodate breakfast eating guests, the kitchen continues to run out of items. Poor staffing levels mean that tables aren’t cleaned and paying diners, even if they can find something to eat, are being catered for inadequately and in less than pleasant surroundings.

Shoddy Beefeater.

The grounds and exterior, generally, are less than inviting and need double helpings of TLC. One of the few plusses is the position which couldn’t be handier for hotel guests.
