About YHA London Central

A great and inexpensive stay in Kensington is to be enjoyed at YHA London Central.  Appealing to communally minded business and tourist visitors, it offers unparalleled access to attractions, via its closeness to Regent’s Park Tube Station.

There are two hundred and ninety beds in total in a variety of single sex rooms.  Bunk beds are an option for couples and some rooms are en-suite.  This is certainly great value but, ‘no frills’ and designed for those who are happy with the concept of communal living.

Reception is available at all times.  Wi-Fi is here but, at a cost.

A ‘student’ style coffee bar serves snacks and drinks and there is a self catering kitchen.

Nearby, Old Brompton and Earl’s Court’s Road calls, with great restaurant choices.  Don’t miss out on: Mr. Wing, Strada and As Greek as it Gets.

Positive Reviews

Friendly and modern

This is a modern, friendly hostel, near Great Portland Street Tube station and within walking distance of Regent's Park, Marylebone, Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road. The up to date theme extends to cover a few shared rooms for guests with special needs. There is also a laundry room and cycle store and. Wi-Fi.

Eating and drinking thoughts

Cast your eye round outside for budget priced places to eat and drink. Here, snacks, meals and drinks are served, but the atmosphere is a bit lacking. There is also a self catering kitchen so, one way or another, you won’t go hungry or die from thirst here!

Positive factors

Yes, there are minor gripes but, considering the fabulous location, great breakfast, clean rooms and friendly staff; it’s difficult to view this hostel with anything other than positivity.

Negative Reviews

Problems with rooms and showers

Rooms are basically single sex dormitories, although you can pay extra for a bunk bed room. Not all rooms are en-suite. Beds are small There’s no Wi-Fi in the rooms, just in communal areas and it isn’t a very good signal The toilet and shower facilities are insufficient to cater for the numbers of guests.

No group hugs

If you are part of a group, prepare for disappointment! They don’t accept group bookings.

Over priced breakfast

Breakfast is expensive, but there’s no shortage of alternatives and you are well advised to start by trying Caffe Macchiato, just round the corner!

Money saving tips

Bring you own towels, or pay. The same applies to cyclists and padlocks for securing bikes in the cycle storage area.
