Positive Reviews

Lovely, quality pub.

The majority of reviews seem to be regarding the pub below the hostel, which is reportedly lovely, serving good quality food, offering a nice, relaxed atmosphere and serving a number of real ales. There also seem to be live music nights in the pub. Food and drink prices seem to be reasonable given the location.

Ideal location.

A number of guests comment on the ideal location of the hostel, which is within easy walking distance of London Bridge station, providing underground and overground links across the city. Guests comment that it is nice to be so close to Borough Market, among other attractions.

Friendly, personable staff throughout.

Most reviews praise the staff throughout the establishment, both in the hostel and the pub, describing them as friendly, helpful and personable. Si-Lian, a waitress in the pub, is mentioned a number of times, and guests seem to be particularly impressed with her service.

Negative Reviews

Lots of noise from various sources.

There does seem to be a great deal of noise at night, particularly from the pub below the hostel. A number of guests complain about this, however they do note that free ear plugs are offered at reception, and some guests acknowledge that noise is to be expected in the centre of London.

Spotty Wi-Fi signal.

A couple of guests comment on the poor Wi-Fi signal, which seems to be fairly non-existent in many areas of the hostel. The reception area seems to be the only Wi-Fi hotspot.

Poor quality basic breakfast.

A number of reviews complain of very basic, low quality breakfast, which is a complimentary continental. Guests describe poor quality coffee and gone-off fruit.
