Positive Reviews

The very best in park-life

Staying less than two-minute's walk away from Hyde Park is a genuine treat Without doubt, few London experiences are as evocative or as enjoyable as a gentle saunter around the grandest of all the capital's open spaces.

The ideal base

With Bayswater and Queensway Tube stations right on the doorstep, and Paddington train station (handy for the Heathrow Express) just five minutes away, you couldn't pick an easier spot in London to get to, or a better one to strike out from.

A truly warm reception

The receptionists (some of whom are multilingual) at the Shaftesbury Hyde Park International are some of the friendliest to be found in London Along with a warm smile and a cheery “Hello”, chances are they'll even offer you a chocolate when you arrive.

Negative Reviews

Cosy. and then some

While the hotel's rooms are undoubtedly of a good standard, there is no getting away from the fact they aren't overly spacious Even the 'Deluxe' rooms are a little on the small side so you may want to do your homework before booking if cosy isn't your thing.

Hit and miss breakfast

As it is the only meal on offer, you would expect breakfast at the Shaftesbury Hyde Park International to be of a consistently high standard By all standards though, it's actually a bit hit and miss Happily, nearby eateries like the Bayswater Arms pub rustle up consistently tasty mid-morning meals.

Old = noisy

Because it is a vintage central London building, the rooms within the Shaftesbury Hyde Park International do not benefit from soundfproofing This means you may well hear noises made by closing doors, fellow guests and maybe even the lift mechanism while staying in some rooms Pack some ear plugs, just in case!
