Positive Reviews

Spectacular location in the heart of South Kensing

This was, hands down, what most impressed guests about the hostel. It is in an extremely central location, close to the big South Kensington museums many guests visited, as well as close to tube stations that could whisk them to any part of the capital in next to no time at all.

Friendly and helpful staff

Guests found most staff to be friendly, engaged and more than willing to help them out with a query or issue.

Very good value for money

Guests were very happy with the value for money they received at the property, saying that they felt they paid a very low room rate for accommodation in such a central and attractive area.

Negative Reviews

Not kept spotlessly clean

Guests mentioned that they found both their rooms and the public areas of the hostel to be a little dirty. The shared bathrooms were a key area of complaint, with guests saying that they were not really kept clean, either by the staff or some of the other guests

No towels available at all

Guests highlighted the fact that the hostel does not supply any towels – not even for a fee. This left those who arrived without a towel in quite a quandary, having to hit the streets to find a shop that sold towels.

In desperate need of a makeover

The hostel was described as being in a beautiful historical building, but one that had clearly not been properly maintained over the years. As a result, it was now said to look downright shabby, rather than shabby-chic, with a full renovation needed to regain its past glory
