Positive Reviews

Swim your worries away.

Travelling can be a taxing activitiy. After a long day of hiking, biking, sightseeing, etc., you can slide into the hotel’s large, clean pool to ease the day from your mind or swim off a few too many high calorie meals. The hotel also offers a fitness centre.

Quiet but still close to downtown.

Sometimes you want to stay right downtown and get a feel for a city from within. Other times, you'd rather avoid the hassle and higher rates that staying in urban areas can entail. In this case, the Maldron Hotel Limerick is ideal for the latter. You’ll enjoy a peaceful suburban setting that’s within several miles of shopping, dining, nightlife and scores of activities.

Plenty to do on a rainy day.

The hotel offers many experiences and indulgences to make your stay a pleasant one, even if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Activities onsite include a spa and sauna, a fully equipped gym and business equipment for productivity. The restaurant and bar also serve entrees and cold drinks to complete your picture perfect indoor holiday—worst comes to worst.

Negative Reviews

Not ideal for travellers on foot.

The converse of being slightly removed from a bustling urban centre is that you won't have easy access to the city, and as some guests have noted, the hotel isn’t extremely close to Limerick. Even though downtown is only about 20 minutes by bus, the hotel may not be ideal for walking tourists.

A handful of quibbles.

Overall, the hotel met with guests’ expectations, providing a comfy rooms and a cordial staff. However, there have been a handful of concerns that prior visitors have noted, such as dingy corridors, outdated décor and worn furniture in the rooms, as well as a need for a new paint job.

Area is a little run-down.

Location can play a large part in making or breaking a hotel in several ways. Some guests felt that the Maldron Hotel Limerick was located in a rough part of town. Despite the less than lovely district, few felt the neighborhood was a major detraction, especially when a cab ride to downtown was relatively inexpensive.
