Positive Reviews

Welcoming staff and locals

The locals that drink in the hotel bar are extremely friendly as are the staff. You'll feel right at home from the moment you arrive at the hotel, and you are sure of a good night out in the bar. The locals love to chat, and you may get some useful tips on the area.

Spotless rooms

While the décor may not be to your liking, you can't fault this hotel for cleanliness. They do an excellent job of keeping the whole place in pristine condition, and guests are very impressed with the state of the rooms.

Delicious evening meals

The evening meals served in the restaurant are said to be of excellent quality and quite reasonably priced. There are plenty of options to choose from, and the old classic feel of the restaurant itself adds to the experience.

Negative Reviews

Very noisy at night

There have been a few noise complaints from guests at this hotel. The trouble is that the hotel is powerless in that the noise is coming from late night revelers that drink in the nearby pubs and club. It's no fault of the hotel but something to be aware of.

Bar food not good enough

The meals in the bar during the day are standard pub fare, and guests are surprised that such simple meals can be poorly prepared. They say that some of the dishes taste like reheated meals which aren't good enough for a three-star hotel.

In need of an update

Some guests like the quirkiness of this old building but most agree that the whole place could do with a facelift. This isn't a reason not to stay here but for the money you pay, you'd expect the décor to be a little more modern.
