Positive Reviews

Great central location

The location right in the heart of Kinsale is the thing that guests most appreciate about Tierney's. It is a small town, and guests loved simply being able to walk to the, cafes, shops and attractions they wanted to visit.

Very clean rooms

Guests were very happy to discover that their rooms were spotlessly clean on check in. It engendered a good first impression, and gave guests confidence in the intentions and abilities of the hosts.

The Lemon Leaf Restaurant downstairs

While breakfast is not included in the room-rate, it is available in the attached Leon Leaf Café, which gets high marks for both taste and atmosphere.

Negative Reviews

Rooms are very small

While room size is a fairly common complaint, and very dependent on guest expectations, there seems to be too many comments relating to the small size of the rooms at Tierney's to dismiss them as the result of unreasonable expectations. It may be that some rooms are larger than others, in which case guests who like their space should make a pint of specifically requesting larger rooms.

Noisy pub across the street

Several guests mention that they were disturbed by the noise from the pub across the road, especially at closing time. There are rear facing rooms that are a bit quieter, so light sleepers are advised to specifically request those rooms.

No on-site parking

While having on-site parking is not a claim Tierney's makes, several guests mention that not having a dedicated parking spot was quite a hassle. It was not always possible to find a spot in the street close to the guest house when returning.
