Positive Reviews

Magnificent location with stunning scenery

According to reports the location of this hotel is outstanding, especially for hikers looking to explore the Laugavegur trail, which is just moments' walk away. Views from the hotel are reportedly exceptional.

Comfortable, cosy accommodation

The majority of past guests found the accommodations at this hotel excellent, with everything they needed to enjoy their stay and ensure they were comfortable - such as heat, electricity, good service and good food - provided.

For experience not luxury

Past guests warn not to expect luxury, but are confident future guests will find all their needs attended to should they choose this hotel as a stopover on a hiking trip or for a short visit to experience the natural beauty of the area, as is intended.

Negative Reviews

Difficult to access

Some who travelled by car were displeased to find they were not able to drive the entire way to the hotel themselves, as the hotel is situated in a mountainous area surrounded by rivers. Guests therefore need to catch an additional bus at a fee. The transfer schedule to the hotel has caused problems for some past guests as the bus runs only a few times a day.

A 'rip off' according to some

While most past guests have positive things to say about their experience with this hotel, many simultaneously complain about the cost of their stay, saying it was rather extreme.

Hot spring not hot

The hot spring pool located at the accommodation was a let-down for many past guests who report that it is not quite to the temperature they would like, particularly for a winter dip.
