Positive Reviews

Quality customer service

Guests appreciate the friendly and attentive service they received at this hostel. Travellers find them easy to communicate with, as they speak good English. The staff are also very helpful, especially with providing tourist info.

City-central location

According to reviews, the hostel is situated in one of the best areas of Hong Kong for tourism and shopping. Endless shopping and dining options start at the hostel's doorstep. Travellers also find it convenient that the hostel is just steps away from the metro.

Negative Reviews

Noisy place

Guests complain about the poor soundproofing in the building. Rooms close to reception are reportedly quite noisy. However, walls between rooms don't provide much protection from neighbours conversations anyway.

Situated at the top

The hostel is spread over the top floors of the building, meaning that one will likely need to use the lifts to enter and exit. The stairs are generally not well-kept and unpleasant to use. Guests do not like this because the lifts are slow and small, resulting in long wait times.

Not so family-friendly

Though guests do not feel endangered here, many do not consider the Chung King Mansion to be a family-friendly building. It is considered a dodgy complex and is said to be filled with sketchy salesmen. Guests often feel uncomfortable in the complex lobby because of this.
