Positive Reviews

Owners are attentive and provide a fabulous stay

Compliments to the owners, who leave personal welcome letters for arrival, and do what they can to make you feel at home Menu items include vegetarian options, and are community sourced Little things, like fresh farm milk, special occasion extras, and accommodating late check-ins are appreciated.

Clean and comfortable rooms in a peaceful setting

Rooms are immaculate, and very comfortable, the kind that make you happy to return to the room, and reluctant to give up to go home Cats are welcome, but it's the reception to dogs that gets the high marks, because of the attention provided for them.

Great base for exploring and when between travels

The bed and breakfast is a five minute drive from the ferries to Ireland It's a perfect place to stay while exploring the rest of North Wales, with Port Dafarch Beach and the Irish Sea about a ten minute walk Anglesey is less than 15 miles away, and there are plenty of foot and horse trails, and coastal activities to engage in The station is nearby, and if you're not driving, taxis are readily available.

Negative Reviews

Small room sizes and low ceilings may be awkward

The generous furnishings unfortunately make it tight on space Low or slanted ceilings can present a problem for very tall people The bathrooms are also cramped to move around in.

Noise easily travels through wooden floors

Wooden floors don't provide enough soundproofing, so every substantial noise comes through Heavy walking, loud conversations, fans, and the clicking of dog nails against the floor are easily heard.

Overpriced rooms since it's also a camp site

Since Blackthorn Farm also serves as a camping site, some feel that the rooms are overpriced Despite the scenic location, it's also a bit remote for the costs.
