About Castle House

Castle House is a high-end boutique hotel set in two separate, elegant Regency-period townhouses. The lovely grounds where Hereford Castle once stood are a three-minute walk from the hotel's terraced gardens.

Rooms and suites are uniquely decorated with grace and style. The main house features garden, Castle Moat, or street views, with en-suite bathrooms featuring luxurious underfloor heating and speciality bath amenities. Device docks, flat-screen TVs, and a work desk are also standard features.

Castle House is a perfect venue for special occasions like weddings, with on-site parking and Wi-Fi access provided free of charge.

The Castle Restaurant serves a full English breakfast in the morning. The delightful Ballingham Bar and Bistro serves top quality cuisine that is prepared from the freshest local produce grown right on the property.

Worth a visit for families, the Hereford Museum and Art Gallery is a leisurely four-minute walk from Castle House. Old Market, a leading shopping destination, is a kilometre away.

Positive Reviews

Spotlessly clean hotel.

Bar, restaurant, bedroom and all communal areas are maintained and decorated to a high standard.

Why dine out when dining in is so special?.

Unlike many hotels, out to squeeze whatever money they can from paying guests; bar drinks here are reasonably priced and there’s plenty of choice too. Canapés before dinner and a truly distinctive and appetising menu, ensure that there’s no need to explor

Friendly staff and warm welcome.

Great hospitality from friendly staff. They are happy to direct you to places of interest and there’s no shortage of those in Hereford and the beautiful surrounding area.

Negative Reviews

They haven’t heard of ‘Free Press’.

Demoted to 25.

It’s not adjacent but very close by. However, there’s no lift, neither is there any sign of staff helping to carry luggage from the main house check in! Narrow stairs and steep stairs combine to make luggage carrying rather difficult. It’s a definite no-n

Confusing breakfast.

Breakfast orders seem to get lost in translation between waiting and kitchen staff, so you won’t necessarily get what you ordered! Neither is it destined to be automatically hot or well cooked. All in all, it’s a bit of a letdown.
