Positive Reviews

Great Location

Many guests chose the Viking Hotel for its location. It is quiet, away from the city and close to the harbour. It is well connected to the local attractions. The airport and lagoon are also close. Be aware that the city center is a 20-minute drive and could take over 30 minutes by local trasport.

Amazing staff

The hotel guests have had great things to say about the staff. They have been friendly and helpful in many ways- from organising local trips to helping with the change. They are also noted to be quick in addressing guest's concerns.

Fantastic food

Many guests have appreciated the quality of meals at the restaurant. The Icelandic dishes offer variety and are served with fresh ingredients. You may want to try the seafood here - it is highly recommended by guests.

Negative Reviews

Limited Breakfast

While the meals at the restaurant received a lot of praise, the breakfast has received a lot of criticism. You may be disappointed if you are looking forward to a heavy breakfast or a full English breakfast. Guests have mentioned that it lacked variety, was basic and bland.

Hotel is under-staffed

While the staff have received praise for being friendly, there have been a number of comments on the hotel being under-staffed. Guests have had to wait in long queues for breakfast on days of high occupancy. Many found late evening assistance hard to find in this hotel.

Low quality bathroom

The en-suite bathroom has received a lot of flak. There have been complaints about low shower pressure. It is also small and narrow. The sulphur-smelling water in some rooms has received a mixed response. Some were happy with the resultant softness of the skin while some were simply disgusted with the smell.
