Positive Reviews

Good quality rooms

Guests find the rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. Having been updated in the past few years, they are still in good shape. Plus, guests find that the hotel is set back far enough from the A1 to ensure a quiet stay.

Staff are friendly and helpful

The staff attract plenty of positive feedback, with most guests finding they are friendly and helpful. They seem to do a good of explaining the facilities, as well as being on hand to answer any questions and offer local area information and directions.

Excellent value for money

Many reviews indicate that guests feel they have enjoyed excellent value for money here. Despite the lack of obvious competition, the room rates appear to be reasonable and parking is included. You'll pay extra for extended Wi-Fi and the boxed breakfast, but the costs for these are also reasonable.

Negative Reviews

Rooms can feel hot

Several guests mention that although otherwise comfortable, the rooms can feel hot thanks to the lack of air-conditioning. Whether you will want to open your window may depend on the environment outside since guests occasionally mention the smell of rapeseed oil.

Tricky to find

It will pay to carefully check a map before you arrive. Several guests had trouble finding the hotel, especially those who arrived in the evening. It's best to head to the Little Chef instead - you'll find the hotel tucked away behind that.

No slip road to A1

A number of guests mention that not only is the hotel hard to find, getting out again can feel like you are risking your life. There is no slip road back onto the A1, so you'll need to enter a lane of fast-moving traffic from a standing start.
