Positive Reviews

Unbeatable location.

Guests loved the Peninsular, due in large part to its central location. Everything of importance was in minimal walking distance, including the river, the old town, the entrance to the famous Girona walls, and bars and restaurants.

Comfortable rooms.

While rooms weren't the newest on the block, they were found to be spacious with little to no street noise. There was also a modern bathroom, and when guests checked for dust and dirt, there was none to be found.

Staff a pleasant surprise.

Friendly staff are one of the first things that hotel guests notice, and visitors to this hotel were no exception. The entire team working here was found to be cheerful and accommodating, from staff in the breakfast room, to the lovely maids, and the smiling faces at the front desk.

Negative Reviews

Spartan accommodation.

Guests sometimes described rooms as bare bones and lacking extras like tea and coffee making facilities or toiletries in the bathroom. However, most felt that the absence of in-room amenities was reflected in the price.

A few things about rooms.

If you're a fan of a firm mattress, this hotel will be a good find for you. Some guests weren't as lucky unfortunately, and complained about an uncomfortable sleep. Older decor was also high on the list of things guests disliked about their visit.

Breakfast not the best.

Several guests advised that it might be best to go elsewhere for breakfast. The options were limited and unimaginable, and guests said that the quality didn't justify the high cost.
