Positive Reviews

Really awesome breakfast

A B&B is often remembered for its breakfast. Few forget the incredible breakfast they experience at the Ferryboat. Spoilt for choice, the breakfast is cooked to order with an abundance of fresh bread and fruit. Guests are thrilled to find special dietary requirements catered for and unusual choices going beyond the usual sausage and bacon, with home-made jams and marmalade to top it off. Lots of guests rate the breakfasts as one of the best - if not the best they have ever been offered in a hotel or guesthouse.

Convenience for the ferry boat

Everything at the Ferryboat is designed to make life comfortable for guests travelling on the nearby ferry to and from Ireland. Late arrivals are catered for without a problem with access codes even sent to customers by SMS!

Very friendly and professional hosts

The owners combine the friendliness of a family-run B&B with the professionalism of a slickly run stop-over hotel. Guests love their relaxed, chatty and casual manner and the the tips they give. They appreciate equally their flexibility and professionalism.

Negative Reviews

Location for eating out

Whilst The Ferryboat is ideal for the ferry, some find it less convenient for leisure. With eating establishments few and far between, a car is really required to eat out.

Rooms a little small

Some guests find the rooms a little on the small side, though it doesn't seem to tarnish their positive experience with the guesthouse a great deal. The owners point out that the rooms are in a traditional house and their hands are tied. Large queen-size beds also mean less space available. Would you rather have a large bed or more space?

Not as expected

Some guests felt a bit let down as they were expecting more : a hotel, rather than a B&B or accommodation overlooking the harbour.
