About Potters Inn

Potter’s Inn is set in the grounds of Potter’s Family Restaurant and Bar. These are all in a scenic location alongside the Basingstoke and Deane Canal.

All rooms are non-smoking and facilities including heating, air conditioning, flat screen television and tea and coffee making facilities.

Potter’s Inn guests can enjoy the outdoor garden and sun terrace. There is also a large car park which is free of charge to use. Guests can avail of health and fitness facilities within the nearby Lakeside Hotel.

Potter’s Family Restaurant serves a range of meals at affordable prices. Guests can enjoy their food at tables on the waterside patio. The restaurant also has a fully stocked bar.

The Inn is suitable for those travelling along the canal and mooring spaces are available, but must be pre-booked. Farnborough is ten minutes away, Basingstoke is a further ten minutes and Heathrow airport is a half-hour journey.

Positive Reviews

Good Value for Money.

The price for both the food served in the adjoining restaurant and for the accommodation is reasonable. The Inn offers good value for money for those who want no frills, budget accommodation in a pleasant setting.

Friendly Helpful Staff.

Those working here are very friendly, warm and welcoming. They go out of their way to help and to ensure their guests feel at ease and catered for.

Beautiful Quiet Setting.

It’s just a short walk to the restaurant and bar next door where in good weather the beautiful, peaceful canal view can be taken in while enjoying a drink or a meal. There is very little traffic noise to disturb the peace and the pub noise doesn’t extend to the accommodation.

Negative Reviews

Unreliable Breakfast Times.

Breakfast is advertised as being served from seven in the morning until eleven. Some guests arrived to find there would be no breakfast at all, others found it wouldn’t be served until eleven onwards and others found that standard items like bread rolls weren’t included in the meal.

A Little Tired Here and There.

The rooms are in need of a little tender loving care as they currently are a little tired and worn. Some of the bedding and soft furnishings need to be upgraded and the furniture and fixtures replaced or repaired.

Wi-Fi Works Only in Another Building.

The wireless Internet signal doesn’t stretch as far as the accommodation part of this complex of inn, restaurant and bar. To access it, guests must go to the Bar and Restaurant area.
