Positive Reviews

Comfort and Parking

The hotel has friendly and helpful staff who are very professional in approach. A guest reports that the room was comfortable, clean and warm with a good bed. The availability of plenty of free on-site parking space is much appreciated.

Quiet Rooms

A number of guests commented that in spite of being situated by a main road there was no problem with noise intruding into the room. There is good hanging space, with mirrors in the room, the TV works fine, and the bathroom is adequate and functional.

Great Celebration

Good sandwiches are available in the evenings and the breakfast , cooked to order is well worth the price, with one lady describing it as “lush”. Visitors who arranged a Christening celebration in the conservatory were impressed by the standard of food and the attention given to them by the hotel's staff.

Negative Reviews

Climb the Blancmange

A disabled guest who stayed in one of the rooms felt that the bed was ready for replacing and said that with the thick mattress cover it was difficult to get into, and “A bit like sleeping on a blancmange”. When she mentioned it to staff they removed the cover.

Baked Beans to Swerve

The hot food menu in the evening is limited, and guests were disappointed by the breakfast, feeling it was overpriced, and finding that the baked beans tasted like a cheap supermarket product.

Made Them Leap About a Bit

More than one guest experienced erratic flow from the showers, with sudden temperature rises. A guest felt that the bathroom needed modernising, but appreciated that it was clean with a good supply of towels. One couple were disappointed to be ignored when they checked out, as the receptionist was on the phone.
