Positive Reviews

Located right on the seafront.

Travellers wanting a rest on the sea won't do any better than this hotel. Much of the property, including the onsite restaurant, offers great views of the water while being near the beach and harbour. Guests will also be able to patron local shops and pubs easily on foot.

A great value for short stays.

There is a lot about the Cavendish Hotel that people enjoy, but they mostly give this hotel a good review for clean rooms at a very affordable rate. The hotel is also ideal for short stays with a group too.

Staff generally do their best.

While the service at this hotel can be disorganized at times of peak occupancy, the staff members do what they can to create pleasant stays. Most employees are friendly and helpful, and leave a positive impression on guests.

Negative Reviews

Guestrooms are very tired.

Many of the private rooms at the Cavendish Hotel are in need of some TLC. Upgrades to the facilities are in order along with some updated decor and a stronger Wi-Fi signal to provide access in every room.

Not always ideal for solo travellers.

Cavendish Hotel is a popular stop for coach groups, and when these parties are booked in they take precedence over other visitors. For this reason solo guests can often feel lost in the shuffle of the larger crowds.

Onsite restaurant needs improvement.

Experiences at this hotel's restaurant are mixed, but generally not a highlight of stays. The dining area isn't big enough to accommodate every guest, and groups will often have to share tables. Only a short window of service is offered for meals as well, which don't always allow for a relaxing meal.
